Reporting Services

Telling your unique story so that stakeholders WANT to read it

Few business executives have the time and mental bandwidth to learn the intricacies of sustainability and corporate reporting in addition to their specific executive responsibilities.

We take the time to understand your business, its prospects and where you need it to go.

The Corporate Reporters (TCR) can then customise introductory or intense sustainability training coaching to take your executive and key individuals into uncovering your business journey and the reporting story that should accompany it.

This may be a testing and uncomfortable experience for new entrants into sustainability, but TCR is well-equipped to guide you through the unfamiliar early stages of this journey.

You really have no choice – the future is upon us – but astute leadership, courage and embracing change will bring you and your organisation through to your true north.

While we specialise in writing the content for annual, integrated and sustainability / ESG reports, our master wordsmiths can also breathe life into any of your corporate reports or bids and tenders. We also provide training, coaching and workshops to determine materiality, promote integrated thinking and instil ESG principles.

We are industry agnostic, having experience with top names in banking, hospitality, mining, and telecommunications, to name but a few.

Our reporting services: How we work

Our approach to your integrated or ESG report depends on whether it has been published for years, or you are in the starting stages of your reporting journey.

Most corporate reporting projects have several clear phases and elements: the brief; discovery; strategy and theming; information gathering/collation; writing/editing; design and production.

We work with tried and tested specialists in each phase/element to produce reports you can stake your reputation on.

A typical reporting process will include the following:

Media review and desk research, including

Prior reports, presentations and company material

Stakeholder and analyst feedback

Competitor and industry reports

Media commentary

Current best reporting practices

In terms of the above, identifying reporting shortcomings and potential improvements, based on international frameworks and standards

Coaching and workshops

Identify the company’s issues and gaps relating to ESG and sustainability reporting

Coach and guide, as necessary. This should include taking the board, executive and involved personnel through a process of addressing gaps, identifying opportunities and placing sustainability at the core of strategy

Strategy and Planning

Propose new reporting angles and content

Establish the reporting path and theme to be followed

Materiality

Identify material matters to be included in laser focused reporting

Engage with senior leadership around unpacking these important messages

Strategise on providing better – not more – reporting!

Report structuring

Establish the overarching reporting and messaging themes

Finalise the report logic flow and establish procedures for collaboration and gathering content

Information gathering and synthesis

MultiChoice
Litlhare Moteetee Senior Manager: Corporate Communications: Corporate Affairs

Earlier this year I was tasked with producing an updated Social Impact Report for MultiChoice. Due to immovable deadlines, my project team had precious little time to create this new report which essentially had to be written and produced from scratch. My writing team - The Corporate Reporters - took to this challenge with energy, speed and logic, setting up a process that enabled writing and design to proceed in parallel, while meeting the exceptional standards that MultiChoice requires from its service providers. The Corporate Reporters wrote exactly the narrative we needed while resolving issues with our previous social impact report. Their content slotted perfectly into the design and our MultiChoice Social Report was produced within an exceptionally tight deadline. I look forward to my next project with Clive and Nalene - I’m confident in their ability to deliver exceptional work when the going gets tough.
